Activation of Windows servers which are configured with MS Network Load Balancing and sharing the same virtual IP address fails, showing error "Duplicate Computer".

For hosts that share the same IP address, it is recommended to use agent-initiated activation. Follow these steps:

  1. Enable "Allow Agent-Initiated Activation" on the Administration->System Settings->Agents tab, and set the following:

    If a computer with the same name already exists: Re-activate the existing Computer

  2. Reset the agent and activate it using agent-initiated activation by executing the following on the Administrator Command line:

    cd "\program files\trend micro\deep security agent"
    dsa_control -s0
    dsa_control -r
    dsa_control -a dsm://:4120/
