Summary
In the event of database corruption, this procedure can help recover the Trend Micro Safe Lock Intelligent Manager (SLIM).
Details
To recover the corrupted Safe Lock database:
- Create a backup of the SLIM server configuration files and certificates.
- Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, and uninstall the existing Safe Lock Intelligent Manager.
- Once the uninstallation is completed, reboot the server.
- On the SQL Server Management Studio, delete the corrupted Safe Lock database.
- Download the Safe Lock Intelligent Manager from Trend Micro Download Center.
- Install the Safe Lock Intelligent Manager using the same IP address as the old Safe Lock Intelligent Manager.
- Restore the SLIM server certificate.
- Modify the SLIM server configuration file.
- On the SLIM server, navigate to the SLIM server installation directory C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Safe Lock Intelligent Manager\.
- Edit the config.xml file and change the values of the API key and certificate parameters with the values from the backup config.xml file.

- Restore the Safe Lock agent installer certificates and configuration files.
- Restart the Safe Lock agent service to re-register the agent to the Safe Lock Intelligent Manager.
- Log in to the agent and open a command prompt.
- Run the following command to navigate to the Safe Lock agent directory:
cd "C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Safe Lock"
- Execute the following commands to restart the Safe Lock agent service and test SLIM server registration:
