Summary

Although customers have followed the Online Help Center to upgrade the Deep Security Virtual Appliance (DSVA), the version of the virtual appliance remains the same as it was not upgraded.

Due to VMware EAM's design, the eam-snapshot will be created during the first deployment. Normally, the eam-snapshot should be removed after the deployment. In some conditions, the eam-snapshot may still exist in the environment. In that case, EAM will be cloned from the snapshot instead of downloading a new one from the Deep Security Manager.

As a workaround, manually delete the eam-snapshot and then try to upgrade again.

  1. Locate the Trend Micro Deep Security entry with the smallest number in each cluster.
  2. Go to Snapshots page.
  3. Delete eam-snapshot.
