Before you proceed, make sure that the correct tmaseng.dll version is installed.
For example with Patch 1 for SMEX 12.5 SP1 the file will be replaced with the Version 8.5.1020.
To fix the issue, either reinstall the SMEX 12.5 SP1 Patch or manually replace the TMASE engine.
To manually replace the engine:
- Stop the SMEX master service.

Replace the following files with the file of a working SMEX Server (version: "8.5.0.1020"):
- C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Smex\engine\TMASE\latest\tmaseng.dll
- C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Smex\engine\TMASE\primary\tmaseng.dll
- C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Smex\engine\TMASE\secondary\tmaseng.dll
- Start the SMEX master service.
- On the SMEX Web console, run a manual update at the Summary Page and check the results.
