This article discusses Apex One and OfficeScan support for legacy OS.
Apex One/OfficeScan On-Premise
If a supported OS has reached EOL but the product version has not, the Trend Micro Apex One/OfficeScan On-Premise version will support the OS until the product version reaches EOL.
The OfficeScan XG EOL is in March 2021 but the Windows Server 2008 R2 EOL is in January 2020. Since we announced that OfficeScan XG supports Windows Server 2008 R2 when OfficeScan XG was released, we will keep supporting Windows Server 2008 R2 until March 2021.
Apex One as a Service
Apex One as a Service doesn’t have a product version, so we will align with the OS EOL plus a one (1) year extension.
Apex One as a Service supports Windows Server 2008 R2, but Windows Server 2008 R2 reached EOL in January 2020. We will offer one (1) more year of support to give customers time to migrate their OS. This means that for Apex One as a Service, Windows Server 2008 R2 will be supported until January 2021.
For customers eligible for the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, Trend Micro will align Apex One as a Service support to their corresponding OS.
Windows 7 SP1 Professional Edition is available for ESU until January 10, 2023 (Year 3). Trend Micro will provide Apex One as a Service support on the same date (i.e. January 10, 2023).
Apex One for Mac
For macOS, Apple does not officially announce EOL dates; instead, we check when Apple does not release their regular security update for old OS versions and consider it as the EOL.
Apex One for Mac will support legacy macOS until one (1) year after its EOL.
