Generating a Best Practice Guide Report for Apex One

This article shows how to run a Compliance Report (Also known as Best Practice Guide tool) to generate a customized report for Apex One. This tool will review the Apex One configuration and highlight if any of the Trend Micro recommended settings are missing to help optimize the environment security posture.

This tool requires read-access account permission to the SQL Database in order to successfully extract Apex One DB information from the SQL Server.
  1. Log in to the Trend Micro Customer Support Portal.
    An account can be created by signing up here.
  2. Choose New Request.
  3. Within the New Request page, choose a Product Profile from the dropdown list. In this example, we will select Apex One as the Product Profile.

    You may need to update or add a product profile.

    Tick the Compliancy Report radio button.

  4. Download the Extraction Tool and save it to your existing Apex One server.

  5. Unzip and execute the ExtractionTool_v4.0.exe, further instructions are included in the README.txt. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete.

  6. After a few minutes, it will complete the compliancy scan of your Apex One server. It will create a zipped folder. For example:
  7. Upload this zipped folder to the New Request webpage form from earlier. Click Submit.

  8. The Request Sent pop-up message will appear informing you that a new Support Case has been created, including the case number.

  9. The status of the support case can be checked in MySupport > Support Requests.
  10. Once the report has been been generated you will receive an email to indicate that it is available for download and review.

  11. The report in PDF file can be found under Support Requests > File Attachments.

    The PDF file can be downloaded and reviewed similar to the OSCE_Compliancy_Report generated as an example for this KB article.
