Invalid Memory Access is causing Deep Discovery Inspector (DDI) Version 5.5 to reboot

Network Content Inspection Engine is the program module used by Trend Micro Deep Discovery Inspector (DDI) to scan content passing through the network layer. An issue was found and shows Network Content Inspection Engine implemented for DDI version 5.5 may run into memory access violation situation.

After checking, this issue can be triggered if the connection stays long enough and crosses different inspection patterns. Possible symptoms include inspection engine crash, and users might experience unexpected machine reboots.

For users who have DDI 5.5, it is recommended that you update the Network Content Inspection Pattern number to version 1.14099.00 or latest, and then reboot the machine.

To check the Network Content Inspection Pattern number, on the Deep Discovery Inspector web console, go to Administration > Updates > Component Updates.
