Verifying whether the certificate thumbprint are the same on the OfficeScan (OSCE) client and server

This article provides the steps on how you can check if the Thumbprint of a certificate is the same on the OfficeScan (OSCE) client and server.

On the OSCE client/server that has the mismatch cert log, do the following:

On the OSCE client:

  1. Copy the OfcNTCer.dat to another folder and rename it as OfcNTCer.cer.
  2. Double-click on it then go to the Details tab.
  3. Check the Thumbprint.

On the OSCE server:

  1. Open a command line and run: MMC.
  2. Click File > Add or Remove Snap-ins.
  3. Select Certificates > Add > Computer Account > Next > Local Computer > Finish > OK.
  4. Select Console Root > Certificates (Local Computer) > OfficeScan NT > Certificates.
  5. Double-click the OfficeScan Server NTSG then to the Details tab.
  6. Check the Thumbprint.

    The Thumbprint of the client and the server should be the same.
