This is an important reminder about the official End-of-support of Trend Micro Vulnerability Protection (TMVP) on August 12, 2020. Customers are advised to start using Apex One that has Vulnerability Protection as part of its multilayer approach to address modern threats.
What exactly happens after the EOS date?
After August 12, 2020, standard support services for TMVP 2.0 will no longer be available. This also means that Trend Micro will no longer develop patches or hot fixes for this version. Rules may still continue and be limited after this date.
How do I get the same level of protection provided by TMVP’s firewall using Apex One features?
Rules need to be recreated in Apex One Firewall Policies.
Will there be granularity in terms of configurations?
Apex One Vulnerability Protection offers simplified administrative efforts. Rules are just like patterns with zero rule turning efforts, and they can be enabled or disabled manually when needed.
Why are some TMVP rules not available in Apex One Vulnerability Protection?
The predefined rules in Apex One Vulnerability Protection have been fine-tuned and reviewed in our labs to work together with other Apex One features to have maximized protection from these threats.
- Document Scan Rules (covered by Apex One Anti-Malware Solution)
- Web Exploit Rules (covered by Apex One Browser Exploit Solution)
- Application Control Rules (covered by Apex One Application Control)
