Sharing Violation on Autodesk Revit in Worry-Free Business Security Services (WFBS-SVC)

This article helps to resolves the issue about the error message: "Encountered a sharing violation when accessing <Filename>"  when using Autodesk Revit when Security Agent is running.

This error may also be received when synchronizing to central and/or saving families to a main server. This may be caused by Security Agent locking files saved to the temp folder that the application needs.

To resolve the issue, whitelist the following paths on WFBS SVC:

    • Classic Mode: Go to Security Agents and select a group where Scan Exclusions are to be configured. Click Configure Policy.
    • Advanced Mode: Go to Policies > Policy Management. Click Add or click an existing policy.
  1. Go to Scan Exclusions Tab.
  2. Under Real-Time Scan / Scheduled Scan / Manual Scan, add the following exclusions:

    • On the Folders tab:

      • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\*
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\*
      • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\*
      • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdLM\*
    • On the Files tab:

      • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Macrovision Shared\FlexNet Publisher\FNPLicensingService64.exe
  3. Under Behavior Monitoring Exclusions, add the same entries on the Approved Program List:

    • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Macrovision Shared\FlexNet Publisher\FNPLicensingService64.exe
    • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\*
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\*
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\*
    • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdLM\*
  4. Click Save.
  5. Update the agent.
