"451 4.3.5 Server configuration problem" error message appears in InterScan Messaging Security Virtual Appliance (IMSVA)

The following are warnings and error messages encountered while querying postfix logs:

  • "warning: problem talking to server 127.0.0.1:999: Connection timed out"
  • "451 4.3.5 Server configuration problem"
  • "warning: problem talking to server 127.0.0.1:999: Connection reset by peer"

Tp fix the issue, change the Traffic Throttling settings:

  • For "IP-based throttling ", the "Maximum messages: " should be larger than "Maximum connections:" (one connection can send multiple mails).
  • For "Sender-based throttling", increase the value of "Maximum messages: " (may be 500, IMSVA calculates the traffic for the entire group, not just one IMSVA).
