Starting June 22, 2021, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will no longer be supported by Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security On-Premise (Standard and Advanced). Aside from the main reason that these operating systems have reached Microsoft’s End-Of-Support, another reason for this change is because it has already been announced that the Microsoft Trusted Root Program is ending the support for cross-signed root certificates with kernel-mode signing capabilities. Refer to this Microsoft article for more information.
Users can still install WFBS Agent on the machines running on these operating systems with corresponding Windows Update of SHA 256 support. However, the contents of the 2021 June Patch and future releases won’t be deployed to the Security Agent on the machines running on these operating systems.
Trend Micro recommends users to upgrade to the latest supported version of an OS as soon as possible for the Security Agents to receive latest patch releases and bug fixings. Other functions including pattern update will still work as normal if license is valid.
