USB Network Card is disabled after applying Trend Micro Apex One Patch 9601

Trend Micro released Apex One Patch 9601 last July 28, 2021 with a goal to deliver security enhancements and product stability fixes. It has been determined that some customers using USB Network Adapters have an issue with the NIC being disabled after applying the mentioned patch due to Device Control settings.

Trend Micro is currently working on a hotfix to address this concern. Customers using USB Network Adapters and have the Wireless NIC setting on Device Control set to Block are advised to hold off applying Apex One Patch 9601 until the next Critical Patch is released.

In the event that there is a need to apply Apex One Patch 9601, the Device Control setting for Wireless NICs should be set to Allow before applying the aforementioned patch.
