Below is the process and requirements for the Domain Transfer Request in preparation of migrating Hosted Email Security (HES) to Email Security (TMES).

It is required to migrate CLP-based HES to LMP-based HES first, because direct migration from CLP-based HES to LMP-based TMEMS is not supported.

Provide the following details and information of the end-user:

  • Company Name
  • Source Account (CLP)
  • Source Login ID
  • Activation Code
  • Domain(s) to be transferred

The information collected will be used for migration purposes only.

With the recent announcement of HES End-of-Life, an End-Of-Life message will appear in the LMP HES console when opening it. This will prevent you from activating this account.

To activate the LMP HES account, this needs to be whitelisted from our back end. In this way, the End-Of-Life message in the LMP HES console will not appear and the account can be activated.

Once the account is activated, check the number of seats of this account. If the LMP HES destination account has the same or more number of seats as the CLP HES source account, the domain transfer will proceed. If the LMP HES destination account has less than the CLP HES source account, the number of seats needs to be modified to have the same as the source account.

To request the whitelist of the account from our back-end team, the following information are needed:

  • Destination Login ID
  • Activation Code
  • Tenant ID

    To get the Tenant ID:

    1. On Trend Micro Remote Manager (TMRM), logon using your partner account. Select the Customer where you want to perform the domain transfer.

    2. On the Customer's tab, copy the Tenant ID of your LMP account and provide it to us. The Tenant ID can be found on the Company Profile tab. It is the 5-character from the Logon URL.

Domain Transfer process can only migrate the domain/s and domain-based data from one account to another account. This process cannot migrate the account-based data.

After Steps 1 and 2 are completed, specific settings will be migrated. Make sure to read and take note of the following prior to the domain transfer request. For reference on the data that will be migrated (Domain-based), see the list below:

  • Domain Dashboard data.
  • Domain settings on Domain page.
  • Domain related inbound policies and related policy objects: Inbound Protection >> Policy
  • Domain's valid recipients: Recipient Filter
  • Domain's Approved/Blocked Sender list.
  • Domain's inbound Force TLS peer list: Inbound Protection >> Transport Layer Security (TLS) Peers
  • Domain's SPF/DKIM/DMARC settings: Inbound Protection >> Domain-based Authentication
  • Domain related outbound policies: Outbound Protection >> Policy
  • Domain's outbound Force TLS peer list: Outbound Protection >> Transport Layer Security (TLS) Peers
  • Domain's DKIM sign: Outbound Protection >> DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) Signing
  • Domain's quarantine setting and quarantined emails: Quarantine >> Digest Settings
  • Domain's Logs
  • Data that will NOT be migrated (Account-based):
  • Account's Sender filter settings: Inbound Protection >> Sender Filter >> Sender Filter Settings
  • Account's BEC high profile uses: Inbound Protection >> Business Email Compromise (BEC)
  • Account's Web Reputation Approved List, Inbound Protection >> Policy Objects >> Web Reputation Approved List
  • Account's Scan Exception settings
  • Account's IP Reputation settings, Approved/Blocked list.
  • Account's Time-of-Click settings: Inbound Protection >> Time-of-Click Protection
  • Quarantine >> End User Quarantine Console Settings

As indicated on the list, account-based data cannot be migrated. Once domain/s are transferred, you need to manually configure those account-based settings.

We recommend that you save screenshots of the listed account-based settings to use as reference in case you want to use the same settings during the configuration.

Once all information for the Domain Transfer is available, submit a support ticket by logging in to the Partner Portal.
