In order to provide better user experience and enhanced features for Trend Micro Apex One as a Service customers, Trend Micro is upgrading the Endpoint Sensor configuration away from Apex One as a Service to Trend Micro Vision One – This is only for customers who have not enabled Endpoint Sensor.

  • Existing Apex One as a Service Endpoint Sensor Customers

    This upgrade will only apply to Trend Micro Apex One as a Service provisions that have not enabled Endpoint Sensor, there will be a separate upgrade schedule announcement for customers that have enabled Apex One as a Service Endpoint Sensor in one or more of their policies.

    Current Apex One as a Service Endpoint Sensor customers may prefer to perform a controlled in-place upgrade of their Endpoint Sensor, by referring to this KB article: Upgrading Apex One Endpoint Sensor to XDR Endpoint Sensor.

    Customers who are using Apex One on-premise are not affected by this change.

  • Apex One as a Service Customers who have not enabled Endpoint Sensor

    Trend Micro Vision One XDR Endpoint Sensor will automatically replace Apex One as a Service Endpoint Sensor on following customers group after December 2021 maintenance:

    • Customers who provision a new Apex One as a Service instance after November 29, 2021
    • Customers who either don't have valid Endpoint Sensor license, or have not deployed Endpoint Sensor prior November 24, 2021

Expected changes after the upgrade

  • Endpoint Sensor settings in Apex One as a Service Policy Management would be greyed-out and can no longer be configured.
  • Under Endpoint Sensor settings UI, an explanation message will be added and guide users to Trend Micro Vision One for XDR Endpoint Sensor management.
