Controlling how encrypted attachments are handled using policies of Trend Micro Email Security (TMEMS)

You want to configure TMEMS policy to handle password-protected zipped attachments.

There is a policy in TMEMS for password-protected ZIP files. By default, this rule is enabled and the action is set to stamp, which does not change the current handling of attachments.

TMEMS customers can change how password-protected ZIP files are handled, by changing the action set for the rule to either of the following:

  • Do not intercept messages
  • Delete entire message
  • Deliver now
  • Quarantine
  • Change recipient

To configure this in the TMEMS web console, do the following:

  1. Login to TMEMS web console.
  2. Go to Inbound Protection > Content Filtering.

  3. Click on the Password protected policy.

  4. Go to Actions, click on the Intercept tab, and then choose the action that will be taken for password-protected files.

    The policy has the Insert stamp in body action, which can also be modifed.
     
  5. Click Submit to save changes.
