Verify the Control Manager (TMCM) server is sending updates correctly.
TMCM will deploy new update components only up to three consecutive tries if the following options are selected:
- When new updates found option
- Deployment plan for Scheduled Downloads is set to Deploy to all Managed Products Now (Default)
TMCM does not attempt deployment if there are no new updates. Furthermore, TMCM agents marked as "Skipped" are already updated, so TMCM does not send them a command to update.
To confirm if TMCM is behaving correctly, open the Command Tracking Logs to see if this event occurs regularly or only after a new update is found.
- Open the TMCM console.
- Go to Administration > Command Tracking.
- Click the Query button.
- Set the time interval, then set the Command option to Deploy Pattern files/cleanup templates.
- Click View Commands.
As shown on the sample screenshot above, the deployment only happens when a new update becomes available and the deployment occurs by three, with an interval of 30 minutes each. This is the correct behavior.
