This article guides you in performing silent installation/uninstallation of OfficeScan client using the AutoPCC utility. This can be useful when you want to remove the installation/uninstallation pop-up window generated by the autopcc.exe file during the client setup or uninstall process.

  1. On the OfficeScan server, go to ..\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\PCCSRV\Autopcc.cfg folder.
  2. Using Notepad editor, open AutoPCC.INI file.
  3. Under [Install] section, make the following changes:

    [Install]
    SilentInstall=1
    NoPrescan=1

  4. Save and close the file.
  5. Proceed with the installation by running this command on the client machine: "\\ofcscan\AutoPCC.exe".
  6. Command prompt window for AutoPCC will come up and disappear once client is completely installed.
    Things to check if OfficeScan is successfully installed:
    • TmListen.exe is running on the Task Manager.
    • Shortcut on Start Menu and system tray icon would appear.
    • OfficeScan client folder will appear.
    • "Computer Restart Required" pop-up notification appears.
  1. On the OfficeScan server, go to ..\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\PCCSRV\Autopcc.cfg folder.
  2. Using Notepad editor, open AutoPCC.INI file.
  3. Under [Install] section, make the following changes:

    [Install]
    Uninstall=1
    SilentUninstall=1

  4. Save and close the file.
  5. Proceed with the uninstallation by running this command on the client machine: "\\ofcscan\AutoPCC.exe".
  6. Command prompt window for AutoPCC will come up and disappear once client is completely uninstalled.
    Things to check if OfficeScan is successfully uninstalled:
    • TmListen.exe is not running on the Task Manager.
    • No system tray icon for OfficeScan.
    • Officescan Client is not listed on the Start Menu.
    • No OfficeScan Client folder under Program Files / Program Files(x86) folder.
