This article guides you in performing silent installation/uninstallation of OfficeScan client using the AutoPCC utility. This can be useful when you want to remove the installation/uninstallation pop-up window generated by the autopcc.exe file during the client setup or uninstall process.

Stopping Trend Micro Services is not required for INI changes. However, permissions may prevent direct change if not running as Admin.
  1. On the OfficeScan server, go to ..\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\PCCSRV\Autopcc.cfg folder.
  2. Using Notepad editor, open AutoPCC.INI file.
  3. Under [Install] section, make the following changes:

  4. Save and close the file.
  5. Proceed with the installation by running the following command on the client machine:

\\{IP or FQDN of Officescan server}\ofcscan\AutoPCC.exe

    autopcc command

  6. Command prompt window for AutoPCC will come up and disappear once client is completely installed.
Things to check if OfficeScan is successfully installed:
    • TmListen.exe is running on the Task Manager.
    • Shortcut on Start Menu and system tray icon would appear.
    • OfficeScan client folder will appear.
    • "Computer Restart Required" pop-up notification appears.
  1. On the server side, the admin MUST modify the following configuration files. Otherwise, the autopcc uninstallation process will not work.
    • ...PCCSRV/ofcscan.ini

      [Global Setting]

    • ...PCCSRV\Autopcc.cfg\AUTOPCC.INI

  2. First remove the uninstall password in the OfficeScan server console > Agents > Agent Management > Settings > Privileges and Other Settings > Uninstallation.
Uninstalling the OfficeScan agent: SELECT)Does not require a password
  3. On the OfficeScan server management console, go to Agents > Global Agent Settings > Save.

This will make sure that the configurations are set and will be deployed to the agents accordingly.

  4. On the agent side, confirm that the following registry exists:

    For 32-bit:

    "Allow Uninstall"=dword:00000001

    For 64-bit:

    "Allow Uninstall"=dword:00000001

  5. On the agent side, execute the following in the cmd-line:

    {OfficeScan server's hostname}

  6. Wait for the agent uninstallation UI.
  7. After the UI exits, confirm whether the OfficeScan agent's services, processes, and files have been removed from the system.

An alternative method is through the use of the Common Uninstall Tool (CUT). For more information, refer to Information about the CUT Tool for OfficeScan/Apex One.
