Summary

The article explains SMD's scan process for email attachments and identifies the folder that SMD uses for the said process.

Details
Public

By default, SMD scans the attachment in-memory. This is true as long as the attachment is less than 5 MB. However, if the attachment is larger than 5 MB it would try to detach the attachment and temporarily store it in the \domino data\SMD\SMTEMP folder for scanning. After scanning, SMD deletes the file in the temporary folder.

If you want to change this setting, you may do so by:

  1. On the SMD console, go to Configurations > Server Settings.
  2. Change the current setting of the Temporary Directory.
  3. Save the settings.

Make sure that each partition has its own unique temporary directory.
