Database setup fails and rolls back when special characters are used during IMSS installation

Summary

The following error messages appear in InterScan Messaging Security Suite (IMSS):

rollback the installation...
waiting for postmaster to shut down.... done
postmaster stopped
rpm -e imss-7.0-1
IMSS Scanner Service has been successfully uninstalled.
rpm -e imsscctrl-7.0-1
IMSS Central Controller has been successfully uninstalled.
IMSS Admin database installation failure.
You must reinstall all IMSS components.

The /var/imss/pglog shows:

FATAL: password authentication failed for user "sa"
FATAL: password authentication failed for user "sa"
LOG: received fast shutdown request
LOG: shutting down
LOG: database system is shut down
