To resolve this issue, run either of the following commands on the Domino console:

  • "Load compact smd\smency.nsf -b"

This command uses in-place compacting and recovers unused space without reducing the file size, unless there is a pending structural change to a database, in which case copy-style compacting occurs.

We recommend using this method of compacting.
  • "Load compact smd\smency.nsf -B"
This option uses in-place compacting, recovers unused space and reduces file size, unless there is a pending structural change in which case copy-style compacting occurs.

After enabling transaction logging, perform full database backups after compacting is completed.

For more information regarding this issue, refer to the Lotus Domino document: Compact options.
