Activating the Email Encryption add-on feature of Hosted Email Security (HES)

This article guides you on how to activate the Email Encryption add-on feature available in HES.

To activate the Email Encryption plug-in service:

  1. Log in to your CLP account.
  2. On the right pane, under Register Your Product, click Enter Your Key.

  3. Enter your Email Encryption registration key, and then click Continue.

    The Confirm License Terms page appears.

  4. Read the license terms. Select I accept, and then click Next.
  5. Verify the onscreen information, and then click Next.

    The Email Encryption activation code will be sent to your email address for confirmation.

  6. Verify that Email Encryption has been enabled for your HES account:
    1. Log on to the HES portal.
    2. Go to Policy and add a new outgoing policy.
    3. Make sure that the Email Encrypt modify action is enabled when selecting the actions for the new policy.

    It may take at least 24 hours after Email Encryption is activated, and before the Encrypt Email action in the HES portal changes from grayed out to enabled.

Email Encryption is already included at no additional license or cost for all new HES 2.x customers and customers migrated to 2.x version. To learn more on how to use this feature, please see Encrypting Outbound Messages.
