Enabling the shell scan option of OfficeScan (OSCE)

This article shows you how to enable the shell scan of OSCE. Once enabled, the “Scan with OfficeScan client” option becomes available when you right-click a file or folder.

To enable the shell scan option, do the following:

  1. Log on to the OfficeScan management console.
  2. Do the following:
    • For OSCE XG: Go to Agents > Global Agent Settings > Agent Control.
    • For OSCE 11.0: Go to Agents > Global Agent Settings > Scan Settings.
    • For Other versions: Go to Networked Computers > Global Client Settings > Scan Settings.
  3. Under General Settings/Scan Settings, tick the box "Add Manual Scan to the Windows shortcut menu on endpoints".
  4. Click Save.

The "Scan with OfficeScan client" option will now be shown on the menu after doing a right-click on a file or folder.
