Preventing OfficeScan (OSCE) from running a scan after a component update

Summary

Even when Scheduled Scan is disabled on an OfficeScan server or client/agent, scanning may still occur if "Perform Scan Now after Update" is enabled.

To prevent OfficeScan from scanning after a component update:

  1. Log in to the OfficeScan Web console.
  2. Do any of the following:
    • In OfficeScan 10.x: Go to Updates > Networked Computers > Automatic Update.
    • In OfficeScan 11.0/XG: Go to Updates > Agents > Automatic Update.
  3. Under Event-triggered Update, un-tick the "Perform Scan Now after update (excluding roaming clients)" check box:
    • In OfficeScan 11.0, uncheck "Perform Scan Now after update (roaming agents excluded)".
    • In OfficeScan XG, uncheck "Perform Scan Now after update (Independent agents excluded)".
    • Click Save.
