Installing an OfficeScan server on a Windows 2008 Failover Cluster

To install an Officescan Server on a Windows 2008 Failover Cluster:

Set up the failover cluster in Windows 2008

  1. Go to Administrative Tools and then open Server Management
  2. Click Features > Add Features and then select Failover Clustering in the selection screen
  3. Finish adding the features on 2 machines
  4. Configure the witness disk and the share disk. For more information and instructions, please refer to this Failover Cluster Deployment Guide.

Configure the OfficeScan server on the failover cluster

  1. Go to Administrative Tools and then open the Failover Cluster Management
  2. Verify that the failover cluster is running normally
  3. Run the OfficeScan server setup program in node 1
  4. Proceed with the installation. On the installation path configuration, change the drive to share disk
  5. In the Computer Identification step, change the domain name to your name to failover resource name
  6. Finish the installation
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 in node 2
  8. Open the Internet Information Service (IIS) Manager under Administrative Tools
  9. Select the OfficeScan virtual site
  10. Click Authentication and then edit Anonymous Authentication. You need to input a domain account
  11. Modify the folder permission as below:
    Folder (includes subfolder and files)Folders and files permission for Domain account
    DownloadR
    TEMPRWX
    WebR
    Web_console\CGIRX
    Web_console\HTML\ClientInstallRWX
    Web_console\RemoteInstallCGIRWX
    Where: R=read; W=write; X=execute
  12. Change the Startup Type for the OfficeScan Master Service from "Automatic" to "Manual" on both nodes
  13. Perform the steps in the following Microsoft KB Article: Configuring IIS 7.0 or later World Wide Web Publishing Service in a Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2012 failover cluster and then create the script for failover web site
  14. Go to Administrative Tools and then open Failover Cluster Management > Services and Applications
  15. Click Configure a Service or Application, select Generic Script and then click Next
  16. Input the full path and file name of the script file you created in step 13
  17. Input Access point name and IP address
  18. Select Share disk which OSCE server is installed and then finish the wizard
  19. Select the new resource added in the previous steps
  20. Click Add a resource and then select Generic service
  21. Select OfficeScan Master Service from the list and then finish the wizard
  22. Repeat step 20 and then select OfficeScan Active Directory Integration Service
  23. Select OfficeScan Active Directory Integration Service and then click Properties > Dependency tab > Insert
  24. Select OfficeScan Master Service
  25. If OfficeScan Plug-in Manager (PLM) is also installed on OfficeScan server, do Steps a-c. Othewise, proceed to Step 26.
    1. Repeat step 20 and then select OfficeScan Plug-in Manager
    2. Select OfficeScan Plug-in Manager and then click Properties > Dependency tab > Insert
    3. Select OfficeScan Master Service
  26. Under Other Resources, select OfficeScan Master Service, and then click Properties
  27. Click Dependency tab and click Insert
  28. Add the Service Name and shared disk where the OfficeScan server is installed as dependencies
    1. Client Access Point for [Officescan Cluster Application NAME]. This was created in Step 17
    2. Cluster disk for OFFICESCAN APP. This was selected in Step 18. Add by selecting logic operator AND
  29. Click the Registry Replication tab, and then add the following registry hives depending on the OS-bit version:
    • For 32-bit:
      • SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\Database Backup
      • SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\OfficeScan
      • SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\Solar
    • For 64-bit
      • SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\Database Backup
      • SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\OfficeScan
      • SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TrendMicro\Solar
  30. Select OfficeScan Master Service, and then click Bring This Resource Online
  31. Select OfficeScan Active Directory Integration Service, and then click Bring This Resource Online. If OfficeScan Plug-in Manager (PLM) is also installed, select OfficeScan Plug-in Manager, then click Bring This Resource Online
  32. Go back to the cluster name and add a Shared Folder
  33. Browse the location and set this to the PCCSRV folder
  34. Click Next
  35. Choose the Do not change NTFS permissions option, and click Next
  36. Change the share name to OFCSCAN and then click Next
  37. Set the administrators to have full control and everyone else to read permission
  38. Click Next until you reach the Review Settings and Creat Share section
  39. Click Create
  40. Once Share over SMB is successfully created, click Close
  41. Verify that the PCCSRV path is listed under the Cluster Shared Folders
  42. Log on to the OfficeScan management console.
