After installing IMSVA on ESX, the program will reboot. Upon boot-up, the device hangs when starting udev.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Open the VMware ESX client console.
  2. Turn off the image by right-clicking the entity and then selecting Power > Power OFF.
  3. Right-click the entity again and select Edit Settings…
  4. From the devices listed, remove Floppy drive.
  5. Set the CPUs to only "1".
  6. Click OK and boot the image again.
