Learn how to manually uninstall the TMSM Plug-in in case the automatic uninstallation was unable to clean up all the TMSM components.

To manually remove the TMSM Plug-in:
  1. Stop the the following services from the Microsoft Management Console (services.msc):
    • ActiveMQ for Trend Micro Security [ActiveMQ4TMSM]
    • Trend Micro Security (for Mac) [TMSMMainService]
    • SQL server (TMSM)
    • OfficeScan Plug-in Manager [OfcAosMgr]
  2. Remove the following from the Add/Remove Programs screen: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (for TMSM)
  3. Open the Registry Editor and do the following:
    Important: Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
    1. Remove the following registry keys for the TMSM services:
      • For 32-bit Windows servers:
        • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/ActiveMQ4TMSM
        • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/TMSMMainService
        • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/TrendMicro/TMSM
        • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/
          Installer/UserData/S-1-5-18/Products/{14B690AA-4527-95F4-6927-B43BC1A35607}
        • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Classes/Installer/Products/
          {14B690AA-4527-95F4-6927-B43BC1A35607}
        • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/
          Uninstall/{AA096B41-7254-4F59-9672-4BB31C3A6570}

      • For 64-bit Windows servers:

        • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Microsoft SQL Server/TMSM
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/TrendMicro/OfficeScan/service/Aos/OSCE_ADDON_TMSM and look for the latest TMSM version and set the value of "Status" to "1".
      Example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\...\OSCE_ADDON_TMSM\1_1_1.5.5028
      Here is the mapping:
      1 – For download
      3 – Downloaded, package can be installed
      7 – Installed
  4. Remove the Trend Micro Security files and/or directories.
  5. Go to the server installation folder and make sure that all files have been removed. The default folder path is C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\OfficeScan\Addon\TMSM.
  6. Remove the Trend Micro Security database files and/or directories located in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.x.
  7. Restart TMSM server machine.
