You need to deploy a hot fix or service pack to WFBS, but you do not want to cause too much network traffic that may clog the network bandwidth.
- Program upgrade includes Service Pack Upgrade.
- A large computer network may include Wide Area Network (WAN) and Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) among others.
You can deploy a hot fix or service pack by group, domain or branch at your own pace:
- Group the clients per remote location.
- Log in to the WFBS console.
- Go to Devices > Add Group.
- Under Group Type section, select Desktop (default).
- Name the groups.
Example: "Branch One" and "Branch Two"
- Save the changes.
You have the option to export the settings from existing groups. - Configure the first group to forbid program/hot fix updates.
- On the Devices page, select the first group (in this case, "Branch One") and then click Configure Policy.
- Under Agent Privileges, go to the Update Settings or Update Privileges section.
- Make sure the Disable Security Agent and hot fix deployment checkbox is ticked.
- Save the changes.
- Repeat the steps for the other groups.
- Move the clients to the appropriate group.
- Untick Disable Security Agent and hotfix deployment only for the group you intend to upgrade.
- Install the hot fix or the service pack.
