Deploying a program upgrade or hot fix by group, domain, or branch in a large computer network in Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS)

You need to deploy a hot fix or service pack to WFBS, but you do not want to cause too much network traffic that may clog the network bandwidth.

You can deploy a hot fix or service pack by group, domain or branch at your own pace:

  1. Group the clients per remote location.
    1. Log in to the WFBS console.
    2. Go to Devices > Add Group.
    3. Under Group Type section, select Desktop (default).
    4. Name the groups.

      Example: "Branch One" and "Branch Two"

    5. Save the changes.
     
    You have the option to export the settings from existing groups.
     
  2. Configure the first group to forbid program/hot fix updates.
    1. On the Devices page, select the first group (in this case, "Branch One") and then click Configure Policy.

    2. Under Agent Privileges, go to the Update Settings or Update Privileges section.
    3. Make sure the Disable Security Agent and hot fix deployment checkbox is ticked.

    4. Save the changes.
    5. Repeat the steps for the other groups.
  3. Move the clients to the appropriate group.
  4. Untick Disable Security Agent and hotfix deployment only for the group you intend to upgrade.
  5. Install the hot fix or the service pack.
