The following error message appears when performing a test connection between TDA/Threat Mitigator (TMTM) and Threat Management Services Portal (TMSP):
“Unable to initialize the connection. Please check if the configuration is correct.”
This error may occur when TMSP Rsync related module cannot work properly. Rsync protocol, which is sometimes called Rsync Server, is specified as the “Log Receiver Server” when registering TDA/TMTM systems in TMSP.
Check the following to verify the connection of TDA/TMTM to TMSP:
- Make sure that the proxy settings are configured properly (if proxy is enabled), or try to disable to proxy settings and check the connection again.
- Check the network of TDA/TMTM if it is connected and verify that the IP address is correct.
- Verify with TMS support if Threat Management Service Portal is able to provide services/logs.
- If the issue still persists, contact TMS support for further assistance.
