If you are using WFBS Advanced, the Messaging Security Agent (MSA) will remain intact after Security Server uninstallation. You can just register the MSA to the new Security Server by reinstalling it from the console. The installation process will detect that it has an existing MSA and will just add the MSA icon under Security Settings section of the product page.

Before migrating, do the following:

  1. Make sure you have a copy of your Activation Code (AC). If not:
    1. Log on to the WFBS console.
    2. Click Preferences > Product License.
    3. Copy the AC.
  2. Make sure you already have the WFBS installer. Otherwise, download it here:
  3. To make sure that the clients report back to the server, get the following:
    • Client port
      1. Open the ..\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\ ofcscan.ini file using a text editor like Notepad.
      2. Look for the "Client_LocalServer_Port" parameter and note down its value.
    • Server Name and server port
      1. Log on to the WFBS console.
      2. Click Security Settings.

The Server Name is the value of the Security server right under the Security Settings label.

The server port is on the right of the Security Server name (under “Port”).

  4. Back up Security Server configuration and database. Refer to this solution: Files to back up before upgrading Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS).
  1. Go to Start > All Programs > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and uninstall the Trend Micro Security Server.

If the uninstallation fails, follow this solution: Manually uninstalling the Security Server.

If the article asks for files/entries to be deleted that cannot be located on the computer, just skip the step.
  2. Close all running programs or Windows utilities.
  3. Run the WFBS installer.
  4. Click Next on the Welcome Message, accept the License Agreement, and then click Next.
  5. Wait for the installer to finish collecting information.
  6. Select Full Version and click Next.
  7. Enter your AC and click Next.
  8. Skip the pre-scan on and perform a Custom Installation.
  9. On the Server Identification page, select either the domain name or IP address depending on what the original installation used.

  10. Change the target directory from its default C: drive to the desired drive.
  11. On the Program Folder page, click Next.
  12. Select the web server and click Next.
  13. On the Web Server page, make sure that the value of the HTTP port is the same as the server port you noted in Step 3, and then click Next.

  14. On the Proxy Settings page, do either of the following: or enter your proxy server information if you are using a proxy to connect to the Internet.
    • If you are not using a proxy server, click Next.
    • If you are using a proxy server:
    1. Enter your proxy server information.
    2. Enter the proxy server login credentials or click Next to skip the page.
  15. On the Notifications page, you can add email addresses in the Recipient section or click Next to skip the page.
  16. On the Administrator Account Password page, specify the passwords you want to use for the program, and then click Next.
  17. Tick the Enable Smart Protection Feedback checkbox if you want the feature turned, and then click Next to continue.
  18. On the Select Components page, make sure that only the Client Server Security Agent checkbox is checked.
  19. On the Client Server Security Agent Installation Path page, make sure that the port is the same as the "Client_LocalServer_Port" you noted in Step 3.
  20. Wait for the installer to finish copying files, and then click Finish when the installation is done.
  21. Stop the Trend Micro Security Server Master Service.
  22. Go to the ..\Program Files\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\HTTPDB folder and delete all its contents.
