To remove the HES Active Directory Sync Client manually:
  1. Stop the following services via the services console (services.msc)
    • HES ActiveDirectory Sync Agent
    • HES ActiveDirectory Sync Service
    If the above services cannot be stopped, download Process Explorer and use it to stop the services.
  2. Manually remove the following files:
    For Windows Server 2003 32-bit and older
    • ..\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro
    • ..\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\Trend Micro\ Hosted Email Security ActiveDirectory Sync Client

    For Windows Server 2008 64-bit and up
    Delete the entire HES AD sync client folder and its contents. Go to Start > All Programs > Trend Micro > Hosted Email Security ActiveDirectory Sync Client.
    Also remove ..\Program Files (x86)\Trend Micro\Hosted Email Security ActiveDirectory Sync Client. 
  3. Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and remove the following registry entries:
    Important: Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.

  4. Download and install (run as Administrator) the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.
  5. Once installed, run it and from the list select HES AD Sync Client and click Remove.
  6. Restart the computer.
