[Hot Fix] B1272 - Serverprotect Mechanism wherein the user can control whether the system changes the GUID during startup

Summary

When the Information Server starts up, the system generally produces a new GUID, which is used to encrypt an RPC package and cannot be configured. Every time the Information Server starts up, the system changes the GUID.

Hot fix 1272 adds a mechanism wherein the user can control whether the system changes the GUID during startup.

 

Note: Hot fixes are downloadable code fixes for bugs or specific issues that occurred to specific customers. Hot fixes are meant to be interim solutions that will eventually be consolidated into a patch or service pack for your product.

 

Customers are advised to apply patches or service packs instead of individual hot fixes whenever possible.
