Deep Security Virtual Appliance (DSVA) gets stuck with the status message "Update of Anti-Malware Components In Progress"

The DSVA status message is stuck at 'Update of Anti-Malware Components In Progress' even after leaving it for several hours/days.

To resolve this issue:
  1. Disable the Assigned Security Profile by right-clicking the machine with error and doing the following:
    • For Deep Security 7.5 and 8.0: Click Assign Security > None > OK.
    • For Deep Security 9.0: Click Action > Assign Policy > None > OK.
  2. Deactivate DSVA by right-clicking the machine with error and clicking Deactivate.
  3. Reactivate DSVA by right-clicking the machine with error and clicking Activate/Reactivate.
  4. Reassign the Security Profile by right-clicking the machine with error and doing the following:
    • For Deep Security 7.5 and 8.0: Click Assign Security Profile, select the appropriate profile, and click OK.
    • For Deep Security 9.0: Click Action > Assign Policy, select the appropriate profile, and click OK.
Note: If you disable a security profile or deactivate DSVA, the virtual machines will be unprotected because they will not have the Deep Security Agent. They will not have any anti-malware or antivirus.
