Summary
The Domino server unexpectedly stops while scanning some PDF files. The root cause is the failure of a third-party module, called DMC which handles PDF files. This problem is resolved by upgrading to the latest DMC build. The latest DMC build requires installation of "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update".
Note: Hot fixes are downloadable code fixes for bugs or specific issues that occurred to specific customers. Hot fixes are meant to be interim solutions that will eventually be consolidated into a patch or service pack for your product.
Customers are advised to apply patches or service packs instead of individual hot fixes whenever possible.
