Enabling SSH access on Deep Security Virtual Appliance (DSVA)

This solution allows you to enable the SSH functionality on the base Deep Security Virtual Appliance operating system, which is disabled by default.

To access the command line interface remotely over this protocol:

  1. Go to the Center Server client and access the Deep Security Virtual Appliance console.
  2. Press ALT + F2 to open the non-graphical interface.
  3. Enter the password, which is "dsva" by default. This opens the command line interface.
  4. Execute the command below to make sure the status is active (running).

    sudo systemctl start sshd.service

    Make sure the status is active.

    For Deep Security 9.5, execute "sudo –s" and type "dsva" for the password. Afterwards, execute the following:

    /etc/init.d/sshd start

    Run the 'sudo –s' command
