Using the backup and sync features of Trend Micro SafeSync for Business

Summary
SafeSync for Business allows you to do either of the following:
  • Choose default folders from your computer that you want to back up.
  • Choose to mirror local folders to your virtual drive.
SafeSync for Business monitors these folders on your computer and synchronizes the changes made to them with your account. This allows you to use a computer or a mobile device to access your account from anywhere and still get the same data.

To sync your files, please click either of the following for instructions:
Note: Make sure that you are using the latest version of SafeSync. To check if you are already using the latest version, check this article:
Set SafeSync folders
  1. Right-click the SafeSync icon in your system tray, then select Settingsonce you have installed the client application.
    Select Settings
  2. Click Sync.
    Click Sync
  3. Click Add another folder to the list.

  4. Browse for the folder that you want to sync.

  5. Click Next, then select either of the following:
    • Create a new online folder
    • Connect to an existing online folder
      Set up online folder
    Notes:
    • You should be able to see your online folder in this window.
    • Pairing Network Drives is not supported by SafeSync.
  6. Click Finish.
    Click Finish
    You should be able to see the folder that you just added on the Sync tab in the SafeSync main console.

    Trend Micro SafeSync will start to synchronize your files.
    Note: The folder that you just added should have an icon.

Store folders from your local directory
  1. Open the SafeSync folder in your desktop.

  2. Create a folder in your SafeSync folder.
  3. Manually add files to the folder.
    Note: You can also drag files or folders from your local directories to your SafeSync folder.
Synchronize folders in local directories
  1. Make sure that you are currently logged in to the Trend Micro SafeSync program that is installed in your computer with your account.
  2. Right-click any folder on your local drive, then select Make this a SafeSync folder.

  3. Click Next, select either of the following:
    • Create a new online folder
    • Connect to an existing online folder
      Set up online folder
    Note: You should be able to see your online folder in this window.
  4. Click Finish.
    Click Finish
    You should be able to see the folder that you just added on the Sync tab in the SafeSync main console.
