To resolve the issue, do one of the following:
  • For non-encrypted device:
    1. Use a Windows CD to restore the Windows MBR and remove FDE software.
    2. Run C:\Program Files\Mobile Armor\DataArmor\ArmorUninstall.exe.
  • For encrypted device:
    1. Decrypt with the Decryption CD.
    2. Boot into Windows (if possible) and remove the FDE software.
    3. Run C:\Program Files\Mobile Armor\DataArmor\ArmorUninstall.exe.
Important: Anything running FDE prior to SP7 needs to be booted into Windows in Safe Mode after running the CD to disable the Windows Service MobileSentinel.
Below are some items that you should consider:
  • Make sure the device meets all the FDE hardware and software specifications.
  • Make sure to run the installation file locally. Always copy the software to the computer before running.
  • If this type of failure is reported only on a specific model of PC, have the client reinstall FDE on a vanilla OS. If it fails, then it may be an unsupported HD. To further diagnose the issue, provide the PC make, model, disk controller, NIC, and video card information.
