Summary
This article provides information about the DAAUTOLOGIN program.
Details
Public
In conjunction with the automated scripts, many organizations use the auto-login program, DAAUTOLOGIN, to securely supply credentials to the pre-boot. This auto-login program normally runs after the Full Disk Encryption (FDE) software is installed, as part of the installation script. The program is located in the Tools folder.
The DAAUTOLOGIN requires group administrator or authentication credentials. However, you can create an installer account to perform the automated install.
The installer account is an administrator/authenticator with a password that is set and managed by the PolicyServer. This account is not required to be a member of the domain and is used to install the software.
Using an automated script with DAAUTOLOGIN allows the administrator to:
  • Silently install the software
  • Reboot without user intervention
  • Bypass the FDE pre-authentication environment
  • Boot to the Windows GINA where the machine begins encrypting
    DAAutologin.exe <DA User Name> <DA password> [<domain> <domain User Name> <domain password>] ["unicode"] ["encrypted"]
    where:
<DA User Name> and <DA password> are required if authenticating to the pre-boot
[<domain> <domain User Name> <domain password>] are required if logging into Windows automatically
Note: The "unicode" keyword is required if the parameters are for devices in non-legacy (unicode) groups. The "encrypted" keyword is required if the parameters have been encrypted by the CommandLineHelper tool.
