Summary
Deep Security Virtual Appliance is taking 1 to 2 hours to finish an activation task.
Details
If there are multiple ESX servers in a cluster configuration, we will need one DSVA installed on each ESX server. We can activate multiple DSVA machines at the same time.
The time it takes to activate a DSVA machine depends on the number of virtual machines (VM) hosted on the ESX server. The higher the number, the longer time it takes to complete the registration process.
When you activate DSVA, it registers itself to the vShield Manager. vShield Manager (vSM) will need to update theVMX file for each virtual machine hosted on ESX. It may take more time depending on the number of VMs it has to update.
To check the progress status, you can go to the vCenter console > Recent Tasks. You will see the following tasks being performed on each virtual machine:
- "XXX VirtualMachine.invokeFSR.label not found XXX"
- Reconfigure virtual machine
