In Mac OS X 10.7 Lion with Security for Mac (TMSM) 1.5 SP2, a kernel panic may occur when the end user browses the internet due to changes in Lion's network stack.

Trend Micro has fixed the problem and recommends upgrading to TMSM 1.5 SP3 to avoid the issue.
To resolve this:
  1. Install Java runtime on the client.
    1. Download the Java for OS X Lion here.
    2. Perform a system update on the client, and then select Java runtime to install.
  2. Log in to the OfficeScan management console.
  3. Go to Plug-in Manager > Trend Micro Security for Mac > Manage Program > Server Updates > Manual Update.
  4. Check Trend Micro Security Client, and click Update.
  5. Check if the Status returns Success.
  6. Deploy the program to the client.
    There are two ways to deploy the update:
    • Automatic deployment - TMSM client will be notified by the TMSM server. A pop-up message will appear in the client informing user that TMSM client will restart to load the latest program version.
    • Manual deployment:
      1. Go to the client management page.
      2. In the left panel, click the root icon (Trend Micro Security Server) to deploy to all groups and clients.
      3. Click Tasks and select Update from the dropdown list. A pop-up message will appear informing user that clients are being notified.
        TMSM clients will restart automatically after the update.
      4. Reboot the Mac machine to ensure successful update.
      5. On the TMSM server, go to Summary page under Update Status for Networked Computers > Program.
      6. Check the following:
        • Current version - reflects the latest program version.
        • Upgraded - number of clients with the latest program version.
        • Not upgraded - number of clients with lower program version.
