Do the following:

The avoid performance issues, do not install the Security Server on a Citrix or Terminal Server.
  1. Make sure to disable the Tray Icon. Otherwise, one instance will be created for each user logged in.
    • OfficeScan (all versions)

Many instances of the PccNTMon process will be created in the memory where the agent is installed. This happens when users access the computer from a terminal session. To avoid this issue:

    1. On the OfficeScan management console, go to Networked Computers > Client Management.
    2. Create a group for all Citrix Servers and move the servers to the group.
    3. For the group, select Settings > Privileges and Other Settings > Other Settings tab.
    4. Select Do not allow users to access the client console from the system tray or Windows Start menu.
  2. Set up TmPreFilter to run in MiniFilter-Mode. This also applies to:
    • Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS) 6.0 and below
    • WFBS Service (WFBS-SVC)

    Do the following:

    1. Open the Registry Editor.

Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
    2. Go to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TmPreFilter\Parameters
    3. Change the value of the key "EnableMiniFilter" (REG_DWORD) key to "1".
    4. Close the Registry Editor and then restart the computer. After the reboot, TmPreFilter will run in MiniFilter-Mode.
  3. Change the memory usage of the PagedPool. This is applicable only on Windows Server 2003 and below. This does not work on Windows Server 2008. Do the following:
    1. Open the Registry Editor.

Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
    2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACNE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management.
    3. Change the value of the "PagedPoolSize" (REG_DWORD) key to "FFFFFFFF".
    4. Close the Registry Editor and then restart the computer.
  4. Exclude the files and folders. This also applies to:
    • WFBS 6.0 and below
    • WFBS-SVC

    Do the following:

    1. Exclude the following file extensions from scanning on a Citrix or Terminal server.
      • *.LOG
      • *.DAT
      • *.TMP
      • *.POL
      • *.PF
    2. Exclude the roaming profiles from the Real-time scan on the fileserver.
    3. Create a daily/weekly scheduled scan of the roaming profiles during off peak hours.
