To help address the issue, you will need to select the non-delivery records that will be allowed and dropping the other NDRs. This will prevent blacklisting due to irrelevant NDRs.
If you are periodically synchronizing the hosted service with a list of valid email recipients in your organization, you will not experience any change. But if you do not use a valid recipient lists, the service will make two changes:
  • First, the service will not send an NDR if the recipient is nonexistent to the customer. This type of email is usually sent by a spammer.
  • Second, if the sender mistypes the recipient email address, the sender will not receive an NDR.
Trend Micro encourages customers to maintain a valid recipient list with HES. Doing so prevents sending of irrelevant NDRs, such as those prompted by a Directory Harvest Attack.
