To resolve the issue:

  1. Check the network connection of the machine hosting WFBS as it should have Internet access. Otherwise, the license registration and update will fail.
  2. Open the WFBS console.
  3. Go to Preferences > Product license  > Check status online.
  4. Click Updates > Manual > Update Now to force a manual update.

If there are open browsers, close them all.

  5. Stop the Trend Micro Security Server Master Service and the Trend Micro Messaging Security Agent Service.
  6. Start again the Trend Micro Security Server Master Service and the Trend Micro Messaging Security Agent Service (in that order).
  7. Repeat Steps 1-3.
  8. Check the license status again. If the issue still persists, do the following:
    1. Open the %Program Files%\Trend Micro\Security Server\PCCSRV\private\component.ini file.
    2. Under the "ComponentName: Messaging Security Agent scan engine 32-bit" section, change the value of "Version=" to "0 0 0".

      Example: Version=0 0 0

    3. Under the "ComponentName: Messaging Security Agent scan engine 64-bit" section, change the value of "Version=" to "0 0 0".
    4. Save and close the file.
    5. Open the WFBS console.
    6. Click Updates > Manual > Update Now to force a manual update.
