There are instances when a ServerProtect Normal Server fails to get pattern updates. Upon checking, the Normal Server TmuDump.txt file in the ..\Trend\SProtect\AU_Data\AU_Log directory contains entries similar to the following:
Err 20110728 18:10:52 3140 3984 Bad server info file format. Inf 20110728 18:10:52 3140 3984 Update/Duplicate failed. Don't clear cached files.
Inf 20110728 18:10:52 3140 3984 UpdateManager endwith 54 (360000): Invalid server.ini or TmAuInfo.xml format. Check the update source, as well as your network or firewall settings and try again. Contact your Trend Micro support provider if the issue persists.

To resolve the issue:
- On the affected Normal Server (NS), open the Registry Editor.
Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
- Go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\TrendMicro\ServerProtect\CurrentVersion and create a new key, "FixedComputerIP" without quotation marks.
- Under FixedComputerIP, create a new sub-key (REG_SZ) and name it "NS hostname".
- Set the sub-key's value to the Normal Server IP address.
MyNormalServer=xxx.xxx.xx.x
Where "xxx.xxx.xx.x" represents the Normal Server IP address - Restart the Trend ServerProtect Service (spntsvc.exe).
