Unloading the Trend Micro agent on a Macintosh machine

Know the steps on how to temporarily unload the Security for Mac (TMSM) agent on a Macintosh client.

 
For Worry-Free Business Security (WFBS), this article only applies for the Advanced version.

Do the following:
  1. Open the Terminal application on the Mac OSX client. Go to Finder > Application > Utilities > Terminal.
  2. Use the following command to unload the Trend Micro Agent:
    $>sudo SystemStarter stop iCoreService
    $>sudo Killall UIMgmt
 
If you want to start the TMSM agent again, rebooting the Mac machine is needed. The agent may not work if you stopped the agent and restarted it without rebooting, because there are some other start options in the boot queue.
