To install the WFBS-SVC agent on a different drive:

  1. Open the Registry Editor.
     
    Always back up the whole registry before making any modifications. Incorrect changes to the registry can cause serious system problems.
  2. Locate and click the following registry subkey:
    • For 32-bit OS:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\

    • For 64-bit OS:

      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProgramFilesDir
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProgramFilesDir (x86)
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProgramFilesDir
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProgramFilesDir (x86)

  3. Double-click ProgramFilesDir.
  4. Write down the Value data as you will need this later.
  5. In the Value data box, type your desired drive, and then click OK.

  6. Close the Registry Editor.
  7. When the installation completes, open the Registry Editor, and then revert the ProgramFilesDir to its original Value data.
  8. Close the Registry Editor.

    Always create a backup before modifying the registry. Incorrect registry changes may cause serious issues.  Should this occur, restore it by referring to the "Restoring the Registry" Help topic in Regedit.exe or the "Restoring a Registry Key" Help topic in Regedt32.exe.
  2. Locate and click the following registry subkey:
    • For 32-bit OS: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
    • For 64-bit OS: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
  3. Double-click ProgramFilesDir.
  4. Write down the Value data as you will need this later.
  5. In the Value data box, type your desired drive, and then click OK.

  6. Run the MSI installer.
  7. After the installation completes, open the registry editor, and then revert the ProgramFilesDir to its original Value data.
