Summary
This article shows you what to do when the Trend Micro SafeSync system tray icon disappears.
This issue is caused by any of the following:
- Corrupted file
- Trend Micro SafeSync was not successfully installed
Details
To resolve this issue, uninstall and reinstall Trend Micro SafeSync. Do the following:
- Uninstall your Trend Micro SafeSync program. Follow the steps below:
- Do either of the following:
- For Windows XP: Go to Start > All Programs > Trend Micro SafeSync > Uninstall Trend Micro SafeSync.
- For Windows Vista and Windows 7: Go to the Windows Orb > Programs > Trend Micro SafeSync > Uninstall Trend Micro SafeSync.
- Click Uninstall to confirm the uninstallation, then wait for the program to remove all components.
- Restart your computer for changes to take effect.
- Do either of the following:
- Reinstall your Trend Micro SafeSync. Follow the steps below:
- Login to your SafeSync account by going to www.safesync.com.
- Click Downloads.
- Download Trend Micro SafeSync by following either of the steps below:
- Click Download Nowafter creating an account.
- Click Download when you log on to your online storage space.
- Click Download Nowafter creating an account.
- Do either of the following:
- Click Run on the File Download window.
- Save the installer on your desktop, then run it.
- Click Save on the File Download window.
- Select Desktop as the location, then click Save.
- Double-click the installer.
A Welcome screen appears. - Click Next. The License screen appears.
- Read the License Agreement. Do either of the following:
- Tick I accept the agreement, then click Next.
- Click Cancel to stop the setup.
The Sign in screen appears. - Type your email address and password, then click Login. The Backup Computer screen appears.Note: You can click Skip to finish the installation or you can continue to read a brief overview of the product’s features.
- Tick the folders that you want to back up.
- Click Next, then follow the screen prompts to start backing up and synchronizing your files.
