Unable to apply Full Disk Encryption (FDE) Patch/Service Pack SP7/3.0.12.756 to SP7g/3.0.12.861

Summary
After launching the SP7g/3.0.12.861 FDE file on a PC running FDE SP7/3.0.12.756 you receive the following message:
Full Disk Encryption patch could not be successfully applied to this computer.
System.Exception: FDE 3.1.0.3 update has now been suspended due to error.  Failed to open file. at Update:PerformUpdateWorker() at MobileArmor.UpdateController.PerformUpdate()

To resolve this issue, please do the following:
  1. Click Continue on the Exception Message.
  2. Launch the file again. You should receive appropriate prompts for Update Started, Update Complete, Reboot Now/Later.
  3. Reboot the machine. After rebooting, the device works as normal and the About screens are updated to the correct version.
