The OfficeScan client/agent cannot download updates after Microsoft URL Scan 3.1 is installed.
The OfficeScan client/agent cannot download updates because the Microsoft URL Scan is blocking OfficeScan Update.ini which is configured in the URLscan.ini file.
- Go to the C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv directory.
- Create a backup copy of the URLscan.ini file and save it on the Desktop.
- Open the file URLscan.ini with a text editor like Notepad.
- Find the entry ";Deny Various Static File".
- Change the ini entry from ":ini" to "; :ini".
- Save the modification.
- Perform the OfficeScan update.
