The following error message appears when using the VDI plug-in with OfficeScan (OSCE) to connect to VMware vCenter:
Unable to establish connection with {x.x.x.x]. Check the connection settings and try again.
The message appears because of a VMWare SDK limitation. The OfficeScan VDI does not support the installation of the OfficeScan server on Windows 2003 connecting to VMware vCenter 5.0.
To resolve the issue:
- Make sure that the installation is supported.
The following are supported by the OfficeScan VDI:- OfficeScan server installed on Windows 2008 supports vCenter 4.0 and vCenter 5.0
- OfficeScan server installed on Windows 2003 supports vCenter 4.0 only
- Check the time difference between the OfficeScan server and the vCenter server. It should not be more than 10 minutes apart.
- Ensure that the SSL certificate used by the vCenter is not expired.
